Fall

With the exception of summer, all the other 3 seasons of the year, at least here in the North East part of the U.S., start usually with a beautiful change of 'scenery'. Sure I hate winter as much as the next person, but the first snow fall is gorgeous if you stay home with a fire (which we don't have since we are renting) and a yummy cup of hot chocolate to enjoy. But fall in the North East is the most stunning.

This year the expectation of a fall is a little taller, because of a short little person. I had been imagining the fun of taking her to orchards and picking apples, enjoying hayride, for months now! So far, we've been to the Queens Farms Museum Park, which was fun to walk around in, although there weren't much to pick and since Mick was getting pretty sick around that time, we did what we can to add some experience but not enough to really for Mick to enjoy her time. Next (last weekend), we went to walk around in Long Island Fall Festival, which is this HUGE street fair that took place in Huntington Village Main Street. Mick was getting better and did enjoy herself. But it was a street fair, so no picking of any kind, or hayride. Having said that, Mick enjoyed the various music shows (mostly rock and oldies), she shaked to the music while enjoying corn on the cob and fried oysters.

Today, we are going to try to get to a farm and do hayride. Keeping my fingers crossed.
